This property was amazing all the way around! The owner and staff were very nice and accommodating. The property was beautiful, full of character, clean and well kept. It was super close to local transit that took everywhere you needed to go. There were also lots of food options in the area. If I am ever in Dublin again I will stay here.

Everything was great. Very welcoming and very helpful. Jack took us back to the airport the day we came in once they had an automatic available for us saving us the cost and time of paying and waiting on a taxi. He offered it when we were sitting down in the living room, we never even mentioned the idea or speak it into existence. Very kind couple running this Bed and Breakfast. Nice location and in good distance to everything in the area. If we end up coming back to Ireland, or anyone that we know is going, we will refer them and stay ourselves.

Fabulous property, very clean, cosy and 5min walk to bus stop then 10min trip into Dublin. local shops / pubs 5min walk away (great location).The host (Jack) was very welcoming and informative as was Jenny (cook) who made a fabulous breakfast and was also a great help in giving ideas of tourist spots etc.I would highly recommend this property and will defiantly return here when I return to Dublin

Wir haben das Avoca House aufgrund der guten Lage und der tollen Bewertungen gebucht und wurden nicht enttäuscht.Jack und Jenny waren immer bemüht uns einen tollen Aufenthalt zu bescheren. Man sieht, dass Liebe in jedem Detail steckt.Die Zimmer sind sauber und sehr schön eingerichtet. Das Frühstück wird nach Wunsch frisch zubereitet.Jack und Jenny waren immer für Tipps und Smalltalk zu haben. Insgesamt fühlt man sich einfach sofort Zuhause.Zur Stadt sind es mit dem Bus 10 Minuten und zu Fuß etwa 20-30 Minuten. Wir würden sofort wieder buchen!

Das B&B liegt ca. 30 Minuten zu Fuß vom Stadtzentrum, man kann total entspannt hinschlendern oder einen der Busse nehmen.Es steht ruhig in einer Straße mit Reihenhäusern mit vielen bunten Türen, wie man sich Irland so vorstellt.Das B&B wird von einem netten Ehepaar geleitet. Ein sehr süßes Haus, liebevoll eingerichtet. Mit 6 Gästezimmern.Es gibt ein schönes Wohnzimmer für die Gäste und einen Essraum. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und lecker. Die Frühstücksfee ist auch sehr freundlich und unterhält sich gern mit den Gästen, so kann man auch etwas aus erster Hand über Dublin und Irland erfahren.Wir hatten ein kleines Zimmer mit Bad unterm Dach. Für 3 Nächte absolut ausreichend. Das Zimmer und das Bad sind neu und hübsch gemacht. Aus dem kleinen Bad wurde das beste gemacht, was aus einem kleinen Raum mit starken Schrägen geht. Die Betten waren im ersten Augenblick sehr weich, aber überraschenderweise sehr bequem. Es stehen einem Wasserkocher, Kaffee, Tee, Milch etc. zur Verfügung auf dem Zimmer. Ohne Extrakosten. Auch ein Fön ist auch da.Was fehlt, ist ein kleiner Sessel mit einer kleinen Ablage, aber uns wurde gesagt, das Zimmer ist noch nicht ganz fertig eingerichtet. Die Größe des Zimmers ist ok, durch die Schrägen ist es aber wirklich sehr beengt.Mit 1,65 und 1,78 cm konnten wir nur genau in der Mitte des Zimmer stehen und bewegten uns sonst gebückt.Die anderen Zimmer sind größer und ohne Schrägen, da fällt das dann weg.

We stayed 2 days and Jack the owner was very friendly and welcoming. He organised somewhere for us to park our car as parking is difficult in the area. Jenny cooked a great breakfast and gave us many tips of where to go and what to see. We could walk from Avoca to the city very easily. The local pub Fagans provided great food and atmosphere. We would highly recommend Avoca.

What a wonderful experience! Jack and his wife were amazing. Enjoyed some very interesting conversation. It was fun having Peanut and Chili around. Jenny was great. Our room room was perfect and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Breakfast was perfect. Great place to stay and would highly recommend it.

If you are looking for a quiet, safe stay in Dublin with helpful proprietors, this is the place. It was a great place for a woman traveling alone, as I was. Avoca House is in a residential neighborhood about a 10 minute walk from the National Botanic Gardens, a must see if you like plants and gardens. Its less than a 10 minute walk from several main bus lines, and about a 12 minute walk to the Dart station. Jack and Audrey, the hosts, were tremendously helpful to me on my first visit to Ireland. Im afraid that I pestered them with transportation questions--whats the best way to get to Howth, how do I catch the Dart, etc. After a travel snafu, I arrived unexpectedly early and without my luggage. Even though it was too early to check in, and they were finished serving breakfast, Jack insisted that they fix a hot breakfast for me. Then he directed me to local shopping so that I could buy a few things until my luggage caught up with me the next day. Rather than have me wait around for it, they signed for my luggage when it finally arrived. Finally, after staying for two nights while I was sight seeing, I left for a different hotel across town to attend a conference, leaving my treasured Yeti mug sitting in their hallway. Jack insisted on driving 25 minutes in heavy traffic across town to leave it at the conference hotel for me. Really--these are kind, generous, and thoughtful people.

Fantastic place to stay for a weekend birthday get-away. Avoca House is a brilliant little b&b, the breakfast is brilliant!! The rooms are really modern, comfortable and clean. Set in a great neighbourhood too, 2 great pubs and a cash machine at the end of the road, plus it’s on busy bus route so perfect for transport in and out of the centre of Dublin too (10 mins on a bus). Can’t fault the place!

Lovely hosts. Very helpful with suggestions for getting around and seeing the sights. Arranged cabs when needed. Location is in a quiet residential area away from busy touristy areas but getting to those areas was easy. One thing to beware of...low sloped ceilings in the upper rooms. My fault, not theirs since I didnt learn the first few times. My roommates had a good laugh at my expense.

Very friendly staff made us very welcome. Were helpful in giving us directions to transport into city and provided info on local and city attractions. Also informed us where to get evening meals. The house is just a short walk to beautiful botanical gardens. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean with modern bathroom. Breakfast was very enjoyable. They facilitated parking with permits.

Jack und Audrey heißen einen sehr herzlich willkommen. Immer für einen Smalltalk im Garten bereit. Das Haus ist liebevoll und mit vielen Details eingerichtet. Sauberkeit und Komfort hervorragend. Und Chili und Peanut, die beiden Hunde, sind einfach süß.

Great service and people. Room was great. A little off the path. Hard to find since we had no gps. Street labels in Ireland may as well not exist.

I loved Avoca House. It was everything we hoped it would be. I would give Hotel Staff six stars if I could. Audrey and Jack are delightful, Peanut and Chili are delightful, everything was delightful! We arrived way too early, and Audrey welcomed us at the door and sat us down for breakfast right away. There were no papers to sign, no waiting at a desk. We had coffee and juice then took a walk since our room was still occupied. Jack gave us directions for a local short cut to the botanical gardens so we toured those then hopped on a bus to the Dublin city centre. Four hours later, we returned to a clean room and our bags had already been stowed away for us - so sweet!! We stayed for five days and enjoyed every minute of it, though we were rarely actually at our little home away from home as we toured as much of Ireland as we could. But it was always so fun to come home late in the evening. Chili - a fluffy little Pomeranian and Jacks personal body guard, always inspected us and our packages at the door. He would give us a sniff and let us pass - it was adorable! After a great nights sleep, Audrey provided us with a wonderfully tasty Irish breakfast and I will definitely miss her sausages. Very, very good! We absolutely loved it! Keep in mind, this is a B&B. There is no dining room, no in-room service, no restaurant, etc. What it is, is a delightfully charming real Irish home with great people. I will be back, sooner rather than later!

Went after a recommendation from my cousin. Jack and crew went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after, facilities were great and breakfast was delicious. Found navigating around the area very easy.

Spotless, comfortable, excelent breakfast with fresh ingridients. Fine bone china cups and high qualities bed linens. Very acomodating host.

Quality of room very good but we had paid for breakfast and received none. We had to be up early for ferry and had asked what could be left out for us. We were told there would be bread and milk in the fridge. However, neither was provided so we could have no cereal or toast and there was no coffee either. We had to travel on empty tummies. Not great!

This was a great place to stay not too far from the airport. This B&B is tucked into a quiet neighborhood and boasts easy access to the bus routes and the Botanical Gardens.
