This zoo has a very nice selection of animals and you get to see them up close which is always nice. I really like the large enclosures that animals have and also how well taken care of they look. Why only 3 stars? Because its not very people friendly. By this I dont mean the staff, the ones we talked to were lovely. Im referring to how its all organised. No clearly marked paths. Barely any toilets! And the worst offender is the lack of signage. I had no idea how to get to places, it doesnt help that its like a maze, and some enclosures are just thrown out there and you only know whats in them if you get close, and circle around them for a bit to find a sign. Every intersection at least should give me an idea where I am and what I can see next. We missed out on a lot because we simply had no idea how to get there. Also didnt appreciate the cars everywhere.Despite this it was still a nice day out and truly appreciate the work that this zoo is doing with the animals, it is clear that a lot of passion is involved here.
Lovely zoo - shame about the cars driving around the park. The animals had lots of space and appeared happy and well looked after. The food was a little expensive but nothing you wouldnt expect to pay. The burgers from the base camp BBQ were lovely. A nice family day out and not too crowded.
This is a brilliant day out for the family. It isnt cheap, but a great day out for all ages. I really want to stay in a cabin and will look into this.
Lovely zoo. Animals were out enjoying the sun! Tigers, elephants, giraffes, flamingos, lions... Lots of space for the animals. We walked loads. There are plenty stopping points or benches to take a rest. Only issue was the long queues for food places but we took snacks and we timed a visit to the cafe with a rest stop.
Not recommended. Down-at-heel, pricey, cant be bothered staff. And I worry about the welfare of the animals. Places like this should be closed down immediately and the animals returned to their natural habitats.
Fantastic day, however disappointed that its more like a farm than a zoo, and you could hardly see any animals. The sign posts are poorly placed and few and far between and for the train not running, which seems to be a normal occurance at whipsnade. Beware of paying a lot of money as you could be bitterly disappointed
Excellent place only 2 drink and food places open so bit of a wait for a drink and food but apart from that Excellent
We visited yesterday was a good day out. Only downside was there was a few places not accessible whether this is due to covid etc. There was also a good few empty enclosures which was disappointing
Its ok animals are well looked after. lack of maps and toilets and washing facultys around the zoo
The kids loved it, lovely set up and spaced out, wonderful staff
Very lovely day plenty of social distancing. Currently no cash is being accepted
Very nice, the personal is very friendly and helpful!
