Check in was simple, with the “hidden” key . The unit was clean and amply stocked with all the towels and linens we needed. The only things that need attention in the unit is the light over the kitchen sink- it’s an older fluorescent unit that won’t stay lit for more than a few minutes, then goes in and off by itself. That and the sleeper couch in the living room has seen better days, the back cushions are coming away from the frame, and just not too comfortable to sit on. Otherwise we were pleased with our stay and we appreciated the little welcome gift in the refrigerator! The bed was comfy, everything was clean, plenty of hot water for the showers, and the sunsets from the pier are awesome!

These are older units that could use some upgrades, but the owners certainly try to make it a nice stay. You have most things needed to make your own meals. There is a lot of cleaning expectations that would be considered outside normal stays.

Our little family booked the Englewood Lighthouse Resort for several days in June, and we loved it so much that we decided to book it for two more weeks in July. We had the absolute best time here! It’s like a little slice of heaven and my kiddo can’t get enough fishing from the dock on property. He went through 3 dozen shrimp in no time at all! The bay views are incredible, and I love waking up to the peaceful surroundings. The manatees swim right up to the dock. The beaches are about two miles away; a super easy drive. This time (we’re here for our second stay now), we even took the kayaks and launched them right from the property. The pool overlooks the bay allowing me to watch my kiddos and husband fish while I play with our youngest in the pool. The cottages are absolutely perfect. They are clean, roomy, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owners Larry and Lisa are amazing! They texted me ahead of check in, and let me know they would be available should I need anything. They are the absolute sweetest owners, and are quick to respond if you find that you need them. Upon arrival you’ll find the yummiest homemade treat in the fridge...it’s a hit with our family! I can’t wait to go back for our third stay in a few weeks! This is truly the perfect spot for a quiet family vacation.

Why would anyone stay anywhere else especially with the virus situation. You have your own little house yards away from your next neighbor with all the comforts of home. Great beaches 10 minutes away and a fishing dock on the property. Loved it !!!

We had a great time at ELR. Larry, the owner, was a gem! He attended to our every need which were few. He is very cordial and stopped to talk to us everyday. Location was fantastic. We loved the screened lanai. The cottage was cozy and met our needs. Sofa could have been a bit more comfortable but not that bad. We would certainly return. If you are looking for a quiet place to chill out and relax; this is the right place for you.

We did not spend much time in the room. However, it was easy to check in, clean, well equipped and quiet--perfect for what we were looking for...we recommend and would stay again

Clean and comfortable accommodations. Outdated building and furniture. Enclosed porch nice to have for morning coffee. Pool was a plus we just didn’t have time to use. The pier and dock didn’t offer any shade. Location is convenient to beach travel.

It was our 25th anniversary it was very peaceful and very easy to get around if needed anything the owners got right back to us. I would return in a heartbeat

Overall, it was very good. The rate and location were what appealed to us. We enjoyed the charm of the older place, but it could use a few upgrades, such as furniture & appliances. The small window air conditioner worked, but wasnt effective cooling the whole room. The bed and recliner were not very comfortable.

The location was excellent. Close to water, dock to walk or fish adjacent to the property, beach a short 5 minute drive or a good exercise walk of 15 minutes, great restaurant close by and the owners are delightful people. They are very concerned about their guests and attentive to every detail of your comfort.

I liked the cottage. It was well supplied with everything from coffee maker, toaster, stove , full refridgerator. The decor was quaint. Rooms were clean, beach towels and cooler in the closet . The grounds were nice from the pier on Lemon Bay, the heated pool, gas grill and laundry room. Lots of flowers and beautiful palm trees. The only thing we didnt like is the bed was a little too firm for our taste. The owners were nice and helpful but not obtrusive.

The cottage had everything we needed for our long weekend trip. The dock on the water was a great way to end the day!

Very easy place to stay. I stayed in a very small cabin but it was perfect for me.

A quaint, peaceful old school Florida property. A great location with 5 minute drive to the beach and plenty of nearby bars and restaurants. Enjoy coffee in the lanai and the sunset from the dock.

We stayed in one of the bungalows to be close to other friends in the area. It had plenty of room, with a large kitchen area and a separate bedroom. There were lovely sunsets every night, over the Manasota Key. The property is close to numerous restaurants and bridges over to the island, and to the main roads to get to other attractions. We didnt use the clubhouse or cook, but that would have been an easy option, as the kitchen was fully equipped. There was free Wi-Fi, and cable tv, and extra bedding and towels. The bed was not terribly comfortable, and the window air conditioner didnt always cool the bedroom, but the box fan helped to cool it down. The owners were around the property if we had needed anything. We enjoyed the outside furniture in two places to either be close to our rental or to the water.

Friendly and helpful management, great location with great views, clean, comfortable and quiet.

Definitely will go back again. If youre looking for the five star Marriott. Youre not the right type of person. Great place for fishing minutes from the beach. Old cottages but very clean and needed nothing. Clean for beautiful surroundings. Ill be booking again soon

Cabin was not clean and grounds not well kept.

Resort was very clean and quite. My husband loved the fishing dock. Location was great close to a lot of things. Would definetly stay there again!

We loved the resort...close to Englewood Beach and Manisota Key. Love the colors of each cottage. Only drawback is the BBQ grill had no starter. I went and purchased a long handle lighter and left for the next renter.

The room was very small there was no changing of bed linens or towels there was a stove and full refrigerator and microwave parking was limited just enough for one car

I dont know how someone in their right mind can give 5 stars to this place. It is the nastiest place I have been, no air conditioner in the bedroom, the sofa mattress the worse I still have pain in my back from the rodes, linen stain, garbage inside the oven, never met the manager or whoever rent the place, I had to take linen of bed land put it on the floor before leaving, And please, where is the PRIVATE SANDY BEACH??, I am very disappointed, even my little boy didnt like the place...is a shame I didnt take any pics of this nasty place
