This was our first stay in a hotel in over a year due to the pandemic. The location was easy to get to and the staff was very helpful with directions. The cleanliness of the lobby and the entire hotel facility was greatly appreciated. Most of the patrons and all of the staff wore masks. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing.

My issues come down to hospitality and cleanliness...As a Spire Ambassador, I would think hospitality would be extended at the best level! Cleanliness - not only did I find hair in the tub and shower, it was hair in “clean” towel. During this time of living in a pandemic, this is unforgiving! My check - in was wonderful!

Absolutely immaculate room( I look everywhere!).Perfect location for a cancer patient with last minute changes and additions to doctor’s appointments. Your staff gave us an early, early check in and a late check out that we’re so grateful for.Your beds, sheets and pillows are just heaven. We will never stay anywhere else as our journey with MDAnderson has just started. We already have made reservations for the end of May for upcoming surgery. Thank you for the kindness, cleanliness, flexibility, and great, unexpected food in your restaurant.

This place created the weekend of my dreams. My daughters wedding was executed perfectly according to plan. We had the dream event! Special shout out to Carla, the Event Director and Robert, the Banquet Manager. If they are involved, it is going to be an epic event. I am a very happy mother. My guests especially enjoyed the food and the facility. Both are outstanding.

We prefer 4 and 5 star hotels, for the quality of the property, the room and also the level of service. Sometimes we need nothing. However, when we do, this is top notch.Intercontinental Houston - Medical Center is highly rated in our book. We recommend it regularly and have returned a number of times. It is our home away from home.We feel at home here and when traveling from so far away, the home feeling is comforting.The beds and pillows and sheets are extremely comfortable too.

Everything about our stay was great! We stayed for seven days to sightsee and it was well worth it. All of the staff treated us with such kindness and we felt very much at home. Our room was very clean and comfortable, there was no noise heard from other guests so sleeping was a breeze. There are air filtration units throughout the common areas, very nice touch. We will definitely be staying here again and will look for Intercontinental hotels wherever we go.

The best night sleep you will get from a hotel. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay the best. We ordered room service for breakfast and it came quick and hot and that is a rarity. The shuttle service is always there to accommodate you. We stay here because it is only about 3 minutes from MD Anderson and the shuttle will take you and pick you up. We will never stay any place else when we go to houston ! We love this hotel!!

The staff at the Intercontinental in the Houston Medical Center was outstanding. They made it a point to know our names and find out what we like and need. They were all friendly and offered assistance at every turn. The food was delicious and the bar is lively. The room was spacious, had very nice amenities. We will always stay here when we come to Houston!!

This is my second time staying here and I dont think I will stay anywhere else when I visit Houston. The staff is very classy and professional. This trip was for my birthday and they even sent a complimentary cheesecake to my room. SO SWEET! The gesture and the cheesecake. The rooms/building is always clean and cozy. Very welcoming environment. Ive had the breakfast there before which is also delicious. In a centralized location. I will recommend this hotel over and over again. Hands down!! Cant wait to come back :)

We recently completed our third stay at the Intercontinental Houston Medical Center hotel, our first since Covid-19 became a thing. Despite the limitations imposed by the virus and the precautions necessary due to it, we had an enjoyable stay and felt that the hotel staff were doing everything they could to keep guests safe and happy. As always, the rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff helpful. The food in the Safira restaurant was very good.

Great hotel with wonderful employees. Clean and modern rooms that made you feel comfortable and safe. Restaurant staff was knowledgeable, food was terrific, whole staff was wonderful as well. Quick access to hospitals, NRG and Hobby Airport. Shuttle within a 2 mile radius!! Great place to stay when visiting Houston, Ill be back!!

Everything was fine and we would stay again. At check in, we asked for the best available view and we were content with the result. It’s not a lot to look at, but entertains the kids. Housekeeping was on request only (due to covid) so we had light service one day and it was perfect. I only wish they had more options for a simple breakfast. The parking spots are small and I would prefer a shower without a tub and a small table and chairs. Otherwise, everything was just right.

The IHG staff at the Houston Medical Center and always extremely helpful and go out of their way to make guests feel well cared for. Some of the guests have special medical needs and receive an extra blessing of prayers, kind words, and encouragement. This personal service sets this Intercontinental apart from other, otherwise nice, hotels.

We travel to Houston at least 3 times a year for medical reasons. I have stayed at several different hotels and this hotel has been the best. We can literally walk to MD Anderson, hotel is very clean, nice staff, and they allow late checkouts for cancer patients. I highly recommend and will continue to stay here

My wife and I were guests during the electrical failure and the boil water advisory in Houston during the winter storm the week of February 14, 2021. The staff went above and beyond our expectations for caring for us. The room was perfect and the food was superior. We received excellent care from the wait staff in the restaurant. Especially from Ngoc, our waitress for the week. She was very attentive to our needs and most gracious.We receive our healthcare from the Baylor College of Medicine. The hotel is very conveniently located in the Medical center making accessing care very easy. I highly recommend the Houston Medical Center Intercontinental Hotel for your future stay in Houston.

We were pleased at how clean the hotel was and that everyone wore masks despite a mask optional policy in Texas. Tuan helped us 2x at the front desk and he was efficient, helpful and professional. The only snag was between 12:45am and 1am we experienced a fire alarm which fortunately was not a true emergency. I appreciate the multiple waters from the front desk and the reliability of the shuttle and drivers.

We had a great stay here when visiting for medical treatment at a nearby hospital. Rooms were clean, room service was attentive and accommodating when we needed extra linens/towels/coffee and the parking was very convenient. The only issue we had was, when booking via phone reservation, the agent did not properly describe the room and its amenities. We contacted the front desk and they were able to move us to a room that suited our needs at the previously agreed to price point. The younger guy at the front desk (wish I could remember his name) made a point to remember our names and was super attentive - great job to the front desk staff!

Amazingly kind and helpful staff. Beautiful hotel with every amenity and extremely clean. Close proximity to local hospitals while also close to a lovely neighborhood for walks. Nice restaurant in the lobby with delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Really enjoyed my stay.

I love this hotel. We stay here every year for the Houston Stock Show. In former years, it had a tram to the NRG Center. This year, there was no tram, but this hotel almost made you forget that COVID was still around. I love that there were air disinfection units in the lobby, by the bar and restaurant. (The food is excellent and the decor is wonderful. Both have a Mediterranean theme.) They allowed us to move our own car in and out with valet parking, which was useful since we were tending animals and had to come and go frequently. Even when we came in disheveled and smelling of sheep, we were treated like VIPs. The room was clean. The beds were pillowy havens after a hard day. Love this hotel.

Everything was fine till the moment they gave us our final bill at check out. My son made some international phone calls without ever imagine that the hotel was going to charge $10 USD PER MINUTE!!!!!! INCREDIBLE .WE reached the thousand dollars in phone calls, you dont see this happening anymore. I think that the hotel should advise the guest of this situation the moment people register, thinking of the ammount you could easily reach, it is important to give the warning to the Hotel guests.

This is a personable hotel with staff wanting the stay to be a great one. Rooms are good size and comfortable. Coffee great! If the medical district is needed the driver is kind and responsive making getting to appointments much less stressful. They can make good dining recommendations if you want a specific type of meal. Best choice of hotel.

I had to travel to Houston for a Dr appointment at MD Anderson. I felt very safe at this hotel. It was upscale, clean and had a good staff. I didn’t leave the hotel to eat and food service was delicious plus fresh. They also allowed Grubhub to bring food orders for evening. The valet service was on point. The hotel was pretty. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay again.

This is an excellent hotel. A roll away bed wouldve been nice since one of my daughters has a back/spine issue. The pull out sofa was a little rough for an adult.

Highly Recommend 5/5. Parking was convenient and the hotel was located close to Hermann Park. The room was clean and comfortable and I really enjoyed the connected TV to easily stream content. Will definitely visit again.

Great service. Minor problems and one larger problem were handled with speed and grace and exceeded my expectations - even with the heightened expectations that accompany staying at a top level hotel. Very good food, attentive service, and everything I saw was spotlessly clean from arrival to departure. Beds and furniture were comfortable and elegant. Great for a staycation in Houston, or for anyone visiting the area around the Texas Medical Center or NRG Stadium, though tram provides easy access to midtown and downtown as well.

The outside look and inside ambiance speaks for itself. Very comfortable place to stay with plenty of lighting. The overall staff, especially the front desk and bartenders that I had the pleasure of speaking with, were helpful, friendly and could hold a conversation.The rooms are nicely updated and furnished with a fragrant smell denoting sanitization has taken place. The hotel is located walking distance from the tram that will provide access to downtown or other parts of the city.

The hotel is nice, up-to-date, and very clean. The best thing about this property is the attentive and welcoming staff. They were eager to accommodate my requests and always had smiles on their faces and positive responses. Very helpful and kind. No wait to check in and everything went very smoothly. The only reason I didnt give it a 5/5 on Sleep Quality and Comfort is the mattresses were not as comfortable as I would have liked. Otherwise, great hotel, and I would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed my stay. It was a one night mommy pre-birthday staycation. As a platinum ambassador, I received an upgrade into a junior suite as well as amenity points, and my fav Figi water not to mention a birthday surprise, a yummy fruit platter. Was treated kindly

The Intercontinental was in a beautiful location close to museums, parks and great restaurants. The staff was exceptional from valet to front desk to bar. Room smelled amazing and was modern, clean and very comfortable. Always can depend on the Intercontinental for a top-notch hotel at great prices.

This is our favorite hotel in Houston due to its location near Rice University and the medical center combined with the room size, comfort, and cleanliness. The restaurant, bar, and fitness center make this a much nicer option than renting a house or condo. The only downside for us was the lack of parking validation for guests staying in the hotel.

Positive: Nice clean room Negative: Valet that was not there when arriving causing us to be late to the hospital in the morning. Waiter that brought me a red steak even with me ordering a well done 41 dollar steak. G/f got me to tip but probably will never go there again

My stay was very nice. The hotel was close to the hospital. The food was good. The bed was big however I’m used to a softer mattress. The pool was closed for weather because it is outside & not heated. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was also very secure which was great since I was a woman traveling alone. I would stay again.

We stayed at this property while our baby was in the hospital. The staff was more than accommodating and very understanding which really helped to reduce our stress. The hotel stay was the least stressful part of our entire hospital stay. Due to Covid they did not clean our room routinely but would do so upon request. The room was very clean and comfortable. We ate downstairs for quite a few meals and it was very good food and also not too pricey. I even called room service one morning when I was running late and they were able to have my food ready for me downstairs so that I could quickly make it to the hospital. We had to change our reservation several times as our discharge date kept getting changed and the front desk was more than accommodating and very understanding. I would recommend this property to anyone having treatment or a loved one in the medical center needing to be close.

I stayed in one of the corner room suites and it was perfect for me. It was a great weekend getaway....Nice view. The bar and restaurant had a limited menu, but it was good for my stay...delicious! Benito and Carl at the bar made the best drinks. I will definitely come back again..nice location...very near Rice Univ.

I received all the services that an ambassador should have and I’m very satisfied. The staff are super friendly and kind. However, 2 towels in my bathroom are not clean enough.

This hotel is by far the best in the Texas Medical Center. Impeccably clean and attention to detail and comfort supersede all of the others. A true gem!

The hotel is great. The pool area was closed (many hotels have opened now). No jacuzzi or sauna. Could not mirror in the Tv from my IPad. Could do it the first day but then it was imposible. Reported it, no solution.

We have stayed here twice in the last 3 months and both times, the service and facility have been great. Its so convenient to have the valet service for medical appointments, the valet parking is nice, and its a convenient location for most anywhere you want to go. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the hotel is so clean and well decorated. The price is comparable to most chains but the experience feels much more like a luxury hotel. The one thing Id like is a microwave in the room.

Actually you have a wonderful staff work at Safina restaurant. I love to get my breakfast there . They are very knowledgable and know my order exactly. All the time they are trying to serve me as best as they can.

We walked to Rice from the hotel, and the hotel is right across the street from Tx Woman’s and A&M Health Science Centers and the hospitals. It was clean and quiet. There was no iron in our room but it was brought up to us fairly quickly. It’s a tight squeeze getting into the parking garage and the price is a bit high plus no free breakfast or parking.

I’ve stayed here weekly for 4 months since my child is at Texas Children’s across the street. The hotel is high end and reasonably priced. It’s a 2 minute walk to the hospital across the street which is very convenient. The staff is friendly and it’s very safe since you have to use your room key to get up to your floor on the elevator. Room is comfortable and clean and the food is incredible! I highly recommend staying here when in the Houston Medical Center.

We often go to Houston Medial Center for appointments. We stay at the Intercontinental and have had nothing but great experiences there. The staff treats us as family and makes us feel so welcome every trip. We have a special friend at the front desk, Twan, who is always so helpful. This is a wonderful, comfortable, relaxing and convenient hotel for patients at the Texas Medical Center. We are so thankful to have this home away from home durig stressful times.

The staff is wonderful. The hotel is beautiful & new. The restaurant downstairs has dine in & take out. The rooms are very clean & comfortable. If you have medical appointments. There is a free shuttle to medical centers within 3 miles. Its within walking distance to Rice University. I highly recommend this hotel!

Love staying at the Intercontinental when we come to Houston! We travel there from Atlanta for medical treatment at MD Anderson often. The team at the Intercontienal is always so accommodating and genuinely seem to care about everyone that comes through the door. I can’t begin to put into words the kindness they have expressed to us each visit. Thank you Narissa for always working so hard to make everyone comfortable.

I booked a room for one night and found piles of past guests hair in the shower all over the floor. I let the desk know and they did not seem to mind. Days later I needed to book a few more nights and was willing to accept that the past stay was a fluke and let the manager, know while re-booking. He was very helpful and upgraded my room. Upon entering the upgraded room, the coffee table has glass and wine stains from the previous guests. It made me wonder how well the rest of the surfaces were cleaned, not well. I let the manager know and cancelled. He was very apologetic and kind. Unacceptable cleanliness in the midst of COVID. I am not writing this review to be petty but in hopes of signaling a need for change followed by action from management. It was not all bad. The bar and restaurant were very nice and the rooms are very modern and comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful from the door man to the bartender.

Staff at Houston Intercontinental did an outstanding job handling the chaos of Winter Storm Uri. After my scheduled 3 day stay, I was able to extend my stay 2 days as the airbnb I reserved for the following week still was out of power and water. The front desk did a great job handling my situation, especially Thanh. Had breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant and meals were delicious and though sometimes good service was intermittent, our waiter Rigo did an outstanding job and was always there with a smile even though the staff was overwhelmed with guests and non-guests. Overall, my stay was above average on a normal visit. Outstanding for a stay during a historic storm. Well done Houston Intercontinental!

I would highly recommend the Medical Center, Intercontinental Hotel. The staff is highly attuned to your needs as a guest. Even down to the guys that were driving the shuttle . He ask where we were going one day and quickly said oh I think you need tickets for that event have you purchase tickets online? We had not we went inside to purchase the tickets and found out the event was sold out. Thank goodness for the guy saying something to us that was driving the shuttle to not have a wasted trip. Bravo to the staff thank you again for everything

Overall good experience. The cold weather and power outage left the staff scrambling to attend to people in lobby. We called close to 12 times with no answer before going down to stand in line with everyone else to get food. There was no social distancing as people were everywhere. I understand. I appreciate their willingness to help others. I was there early as my wife was 39 weeks pregnant and didnt want to get stuck in cold. Without any assistance from staff and complete lack of assistance as a paying customer I felt they could atleast of designated someone to help the people already in the hotel. Left without help I was essentialy forced to not practice social distancing in order to get food. We basically had to prioritize one emergency over another. I just felt they could have been more organized.

I stayed a few nights during February’s winter storm “Uni” because I needed to work in the the med center as a nurse and knew I wouldn’t safely be able to go home and back if the roads were iced over. Freddy at the front desk was able to accommodate me last minute as I prepped for many days away from home, provided me with early check in an in a quiet room away from elevators so I could sleep more comfortably during the day hours after my shifts . Juan Pablo was so gracious to help with small mishaps as best he could , both always with a smile. Rebeca from housekeeping was always attentive and had such a pleasant and cheerful attitude, my room was spotless. I just want to say how impressed I was with the cleanliness of the hotel , sanitary measures during COVID and how smoothly the whole hotel was running during the winter storm even though THEY were short staffed and also had issues due to the storm. We never lost water or had pipes bursts/leaks as other hotels on the block unfortunately had due to the ice storm. I did have a couple of delicious and hot meals at the restaurant (very few choices and very long wait times ) and am appreciative for them even having an open restaurant ! Hopefully I won’t ever have to stay here again but I encourage anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the medical center to consider this hotel , worth every penny !

Comfortable bed, bedding, and pillows. Wonderful views of the medical center. Great food. I work night shift across the street and was unfortunately out in a room right next to a busy stairwell. The door slamming woke me during the day. Overall great experience. I hope in the future the hotel considers discounts for healthcare workers during natural disasters and special check in/out times for night shift workers.

Great customer service. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room service, the restaurant, the bar, and the shuttle service were all top notch. After staying at the Intercontinental, it would be hard to stay anywhere else! We will definitley be back!

The purpose of my trip was to see a doctor at a Cancer Center. When I made the reservation with a extremely hard to understand reservation agent, I stressed the importance of rest and relaxation. I saw the regular room but asked for an upgrade to the Junior King Suite which they gave me. I got a rate. I also stated I needed a room close to the elevator because of health issues. When I checked in, I made sure it was close to the elevator and he said it actually was one of the furthest room they had. He said I could upgrade to a bigger suite or take a standard room. I chose the upgrade because I wanted the spa inspired bathroom with both a shower and tub. I got into my room, which was nice but noticed there was no tub - ugh!!! One of the top 3 things I wanted. I was hungry and looked at the room service menu and there wasn’t anything I would eat on there. If you like Mediterranean food then this restaurant is for you. So I ordered food from Door dash. They were so fast and got the food to me in 20 minutes! But he couldn’t bring it up to me someone from the hotel could only do that. So I waited. And waited. And waited. After 15 minutes I called to the front desk and asked where my delivery was and he said hold on a minute. After holding for 8 minutes I hung up and called back. He said he just found it and will have it sent up. Just as I figured, when I got it my expensive baked ziti and garlic cheese bread was cold and soggy. Actually the bread was wet from the condensation. I ate a little bit but threw the rest of it away. That was a waste of money! I go to wash my hands again and notice the sink is stopped up. After 10 minutes of messing around with the drain I got the water to go down but had to twist it back up after every use. The stopper was broke. I called downstairs but no one came to fix it so I had to do it myself. The bed was comfortable. I ordered room service breakfast in the morning and ordered a bacon and American cheese omelet, apple juice and a n everything bagel with cream cheese for my plane ride later that night. I got my food and got a bacon

My wife and I had to come to Houston for treatments and surgery at MD Anderson. We love to stay at the Intercontinental Hotel. The staff is so great and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Excellent hotel and a great experience. We will be back. Thank you.

Our stay was excellent. All staff was friendly and helpful. Location was central to most destinations. I would definitely return again. Only request is add vending machines for bottled drinks and late night snacks.

I have stayed twice- first time standard room, second time, junior suite. Big difference in bathroom comfort- the latter has a big tub, the former only a shower. The added footage also gives some grace as opposed to just efficency. The best thing about this hotel is if you are going to one of the hospitals or buildings in the medical center you are very well situated. However, if you are not, I hope you like emergency sirens. ( Stay high in the hotel and avoid some of that). The other best thing is the staff- extremely nice and flexible at the desk, a sweetheart of a doorman, and very nice and able waitresses and waiters a the restaurant. All are professional and also very human and approachable. The restaurant is much improved- the sanwhiches were excellent and the breakfasts were very good- liked the tea service a lot. Suggestion: invest in a better coffee maker - I found the coffee bitter- even the lattes..hence the concentration on tea.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and has a wonderful staff that is always willing to help with a very pleasant attitude. They really strive to make you feel comfortable which is very important to us because we come to Houston for my daughters cancer treatments. Also, some of the staff always remember us from previous stays and gives us an even warmer greeting and is very supportive of my daughter. We are very grateful. They are such a blessing.

I and my husband stayed couple nights for our anniversary and the staff helped make our stay perfect. They paid attention to detail and ensured our needs were met. We were grateful to come back to a nice setting of food, drinks, and card in our room to add to our celebration. The food and drinks are incredible. We are definitely coming back.

The front desk host was incredible, he was very friendly and informative. He gave my son a bear that he still sleeps with. I hate i don’t have his name. He’s hands down the best. The room was ok, there was a constant buzzing sound that i was told was a smoke detector but i don’t believe this. It was constant and annoying. I mentioned it and basically got an I’m sorry but it could have been fixed in 5 minutes if you mentioned it. This suggestion was disappointing since i know the difference between a smoke alarm an obnoxious buzzing

The stay was great the beds and Room was clean and the staff was very helpful. Our stay was abundantly enjoyable, everything that we asked for was brought to us in a timely manner as well as the bar and food options were great as well.

Upon arrival I was pleased to see valet was offered. I was tired , it was cold. I have stayed in other properties (not in your family)recently and they could learn lessons from this crew. The design, cleanliness was excellent. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in or around the medical center. Excellent location.Decor in lobby, dining area and rooms was very well done. I applaud this team for the job they did. You can have a boutique feel at a reasonable price. Continued success and I will definitely be staying at more of your properties.

We have stayed in many hotels across the Houston area and this one was by far our favorite. From the health and cleanliness methods in place to the comfort and upscale amenities, we most definitely will be returning.

This was my first visit to Houston and I must say I was surprised with the attentive and kind staff, the hotels GREAT location and the luxury service and amenities without the hefty price tag one is expecting for this level of accommodation.

Very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Walking distance fromMD Anderson and Texas Children’s. Very happy to have a place this nice in the Med Center now. Would prefer a coffee maker to an espresso machine in the room, but that’s the only change I would make.

The room was well lit. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. I frequently fell asleep without even realizing it because I was so comfortable just sitting on the bed. I stayed during COVID-19 times. The room was very clean. They are not doing daily room service but did provide enough towels for my 2 days stay.

The staff was extremely polite and kind. I did not feel uncomfortable one bit during my stay. The cleanliness was perfect, we felt safe. 10/10

This is a beautiful hotel that is very well kept. The rooms are large and always clean. You feel safe staying at this property as well. If you need to dine, please try the restaurant inside the hotel. The food is top quality and is prepared by a wonderful chief. The bar area is very nice and welcoming with wonderful staff that will fix you a perfect drink.

Everything was great .The only problem was the keys did not open the gate to the parking garage.We had to call a attendant everytime we would leave and when we would go back

I did not book this hotel before because of the rate, however this time, we did it, and I do not regret it.This hotel has excellent installations, amenities, even an air purifier at the lobby that kills viruses and bacteria.The guest room was excellent, nice sheets and pillows. The mattress was a little bit hard for my taste, but comfy.The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend this hotel.

It is a new motel open /- 1 yr., it should be nice and pristine looking.Staff from arrival to departure were great, professional and very courteous.Shuttle service to / from medical center very timely ran and very courteous and attentive personnel.Junior sweet is not a sweet in any terms of what that implies, just an oversized room with extra chair and lamp.Outside amenities severely lacking, no place to relax outside without being accosted by the local homeless population.

Our son is a student at Rice. The hotel is so convenient to campus and is next door to his apartment building which I assume is owned by the same company. Excellent service. Very clean rooms. Excellent room service. I also enjoy the bar in the lobby. After a long drive to visit our son, it is so nice to take a glass of wine up to the room to enjoy while unpacking.

I am by no means fancy but my recent stay made me feel extra fancy and lavish.

Very professional and attentive staff, particularly at the restaurant. Breakfast was well-prepared and quite enjoyable.
