We were surprised how good our experience was at Hotel Belmar! Friendly staff, good room and bathroom, ac and fan, great internet and great location!

The property is completely run down and the number of poor repair jobs greatly out weighs the items in good condition. It’s completely rundown and everywhere you turn there is something in need of an upgrade or a poorly repaired item. Faucets that mounts are not tight and turn when you use them. Bad caulk jobs. Worn out tiles. Slow drains. Missing security safes. Bed frames that aren’t properly assembled or broken. Poorly repaired toilets which leak at the base and emit smells. Towels and linens that are in terrible shape and need replacement. This property is no longer cared for the way it had been and that’s obvious. It’s a shame because a few years ago it was very charming and quite nice. Now it’s more like a rundown motel or hostel. Unfortunate. The staff are amazing and did what they could within their ability to improve our experience. Thank you for to them. We are appreciative to them all.

Staff was partying at the restaurant until very late at night. Couldn’t sleep!

Great boutique setting. I had a suite on level 3 and it was quaint, clean and super old skool in a grand way. Cute little kitchenette with coffe maker and pots pans for cooking. Imagine Hemingway in Cuba... That kind of property. Rolandis is situated directly below of which the staff and food are amazing. Located in the heart of downtown coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, live music and all that entails at your doorstep. Beds were cozy and noise on the third level was minimal during the day.... At night it was peaceful quiet after 11. Would stay again with zero worries. Its likely more for seasoned travelers! If your looking to be pampered or are a whiny tourist you best stick to the resorts.

Nice clean place, right in the heart of Isla mujeres, only problem, if you get a room at the front of the hotel, is the noise, really loud between the hours of 1600 hours and midnight. The rest of it was nice.

We have zero complaints about staying at Hotel Belmar. Although it is a part of Rolandis Restaurant and ours was the only room you had to access by walking through the dinning area, the staff never made us feel badly or uncomfortable about cutting through. They always greeted us kindly. The rest of the suites use an easily accessible side staircase. There was often loud evening entertainment of mariachi bands or musicians. But we were either out, or enjoying it with our door open if home or could barely here it with the door closed. And thats what you should be in Isla for.... a full fiesta of Mexican fun! Our room was well maintained, great a/c, well working WiFi and comfortable beds. We particularly loved the walk in closet to tuck away all our clothes and the balcony was HUGE with a hot tub..... which of course we did not need to fill with +28 daily weather!!

Basic hotel but priced as such. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms clean, safe. Water pressure was a bit of an issue on the top floor, not as much on the second floor ( we had rooms on both floors over two weeks). Staff helpful, they seem to work the restaurant as well as the hotel. There is considerable noise from the restaurant at night, though it does quiet down after midnight. The morning crew setting up starts very early, youll hear that. This noise wasnt an issue on the top floor, above the atrium roof. Hotel price is in line with what you get. Id stay there again.

The stay was okay, but do not expect to sleep. Very busy street full of nightlife since you will be close by bars. Then since you are above a restaurant you will hear all the noise from guests and staff with no break. Hot water and cold air was provided despite other reviews. As soon as we walked in and turned on the lights, cockroaches scattered. Bed was clean, no problems, very cheap - last minute stay.

This was a last minute booking and there were not any good waterfront available so we opted for downtown. The Belmar had good reviews overall so we gave it a try. It was EXCELLENT. Spotlessly clean, small but very comfortable room, we were over the dining room of the restaurant and easily slept when there was still activity in the evening. It was also very pleasant to awake to the sound of cutlery being sorted rather than to an alarm. We ate breakfast in the restaurant every morning because the food, coffee and service were so good. We also ate dinner there on several evenings. We highly recommend this hotel and the price was very reasonable.

We loved the hotel, the location was perfect! Hotel Belmar is a traditional Mexican hotel - we were very pleased. Staff was friendly, and helpful - it was our first trip to Isla Mujeres - looking forward to returning.

This is a little hotel above a restaurant right in the middle of downtown Isla Mujeres. Our room was small, but comfortable. If youre looking for quiet, this may not be the place to go, because the noise from the restaurant continues till well after midnight. However, the location, close to local eateries and shops, cannot be beat. Its kind of a quaint experience!

We were looking for a place to stay for less than $80US on short notice during the very busy year end holidays. This hotel met our needs. The room was clean, everything worked, check in and out were normal. We knew it was in the middle of the action, but noise was bearable and the hotel had taken steps to mitigate it. Yes the room was a bit tired, but it met our expectations.

La ubicación excelente a unas calles del Ferri y a otras de la Playa. Saliendo del hotel se encuentran muchos restaruantes más!!Artículos de baño deliciosos que huelen a miel, la habitación limpia. Sinceramente creí que no iba a poder dormir por la ubicación de las habitaciones que se encuentra sobre el restaurante y al rededor pero sin problema alguno.Me hospedaría nuevamente allí sin pensarlo.

Best location you could possibly get but at the same time if you expect to get any sleep - dont. So noisy all night long and the pillows were so big that I woke up with the stiffest neck ever. However an incredible massage on the beach less than 50m walk from our front door fixed it. Staff were lovely, cannot fault them.

Room was nice and off of the street. No hot water...ever. Beach towels were an extra cost. No blankets available...rainy and a bit chilly for a couple of days so it would have been nice.

We very much liked the location; the food choice & quality was very good for both breakfast and dinner. The hotel was clean but, there was no hot water for showers (both in the morning and at the end of our beach day after 5pm), and whenever we ran water at the bathroom sink and the shower, the output lines were leaking from somewhere onto the bathroom floor.

I have been travelling yearly to Isla Mujeres for 11 years and always stayed at Hotel Belmar! And the hotel below (Rolandis) is one of the hest! Perfect location, super clean and charming! Wont stay any where else- can not wait to go back!

Nice Hotel close to everything in centro. Maids are great. Rooms are in need of some work but is worth value.

The room was fine if you like cold showers - absolutely no warm/hot water.

Location was perfect, room was very comfortable, big smart tv, the AC unit kept the room at perfect temperature, there is a convenience store beside the hotel open 24/7.

The front desk did not had my reservation. After several minutes and calls they confirm my reservation.

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. The money for the entire stay was required the first night by the manager. The room had broken furniture, partially working air conditioning, and leaking plumbing. There was no blanket on the bead- just sheets- when my wife asked for a blanket, she was told to talk to the cleaning lady in the morning. We attempted to sleep with just a sheets... The next day I found another hotel and we moved there. We absorbed the cost of the Belmar and will never go back again.

We have stayed at the Belmar for several years. As always, we had a very good experience with the room and friendly staff.
