The check-in time on both Hotels.com and another major website I checked is 2:00pm. I arrived just after 2:30pm to find the reception was closed and a sign stating the hours were now 4 to 7pm for check-in, which is far later than anywhere else Ive ever stayed. I rang the after hours number a number of times but it either rang out or went to voicemail. I left a message but no-one called me back. I wasnt able to check in until around 3:55pm. I had been planning to go bushwalking before meeting with a friend so had to cut this short. The person at the reception was apologetic. On a positive note, apart from the check-in issue, I was pleased with the room I stayed in and it was a bit better than I was expecting, given it is backpacker accommodation. The premises are very close to Katoomba station.

Not the best customer experience. Couldn’t check in at 2pm even know booking said 2pm . Unclean property . Used to stay here a while ago it’s gone down the drain since. Regular visitor to blue mountain I’ll be changing my stay location now

Awesome place. Just over a block from the train station and the main street. Big communal are and well stocked kitchen and large refrigerators. Entertainment room with Netflix and Stan. Wendy, Stacy, and Brett are always very helpful and can help out with hikes etc. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

The entire building is unique in its own way. The rooms are tidy and there are so many facilities that the guests are able to use. The kitchen is clean as well as the dining room, not to mention you are able to watch movies and do your own thing in the other rooms. Overall the accomodation is brilliant and great for everyone.

Always friendly service. Kitchen facilities ok to cook all meals. Comfortable bed and room. Great common area with games and television. Close to shops, train station and tourist attractions. Local promotions available. Love staying at the backpackers and meeting other travellers from around the world.

This hostel is a quiet place to get some rest away from the big city. The hostel is in an older building that could you some fresh paint but other than that everything was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable but the pillows could be better. Also private reading lamps and charging ports for each bed would be a plus. The kitchen is very good size with everything you need. Has a very nice living room area and quite reading/movie room.

Top: Das Hostel bietet free Wifi in allen Räumen und für alle Gäste und free Laundry an! Das Zimmer (4-Dorm) war sehr sauber und die Betten sehr bequem. Es war etwas kalt, aber wir hatten einen kleinen mobilen Ofen, welchen das Zimmer sehr heizte.Nicht so top: Katoomba war überhaupt nicht unser Ding! Die Stadt war etwas ausgestorben und erinnerte an ein verlassenes Hippiedorf. Besser nach Leura gehen.

Great value, easy walk to CBD and train station. Lots of eats close. Staff genuinely care about the facility and bend over backwards to meet guest requests. Excellent value, some more expensive rooms with ensuite bathrms but lower cost ones share common bathrooms. Housekeeping keeps them spotless! WiFi Service is great with 5 routers and 10 channels. In room TVs work well. Shared kitchen for cooking. Movie room with projector and computer movie service. Great place to stay!

Outstanding staff! Two minor issues with our room became their top priority and got fixed right away. This hostel is a gem in the CBD of Katoomba in the heart of the blue mountains. Free parking, WiFi (5 routers) and in room TV. There are shared bathrooms and the hostel is kept really clean. The night we arrived (Saturday) there was a free BBQ for guests. Food went fast because it was so well attended but we made do with a hot dog, baked potato and some veggie garnish. Great value, consider booking ahead since the twenty odd rooms do fill up. Rigid non-smoking policy keeps the air pleasant. In room heaters, no AC.

The room was very very small and I understood after speaking with “Wotif” there were 3 beds description being twin bed and bunk.should be a mirror at least and a shelf .Luckily one guest did not stay otherwise I doubt we could have endured the crampt quarters.

We were a family of four in a private room with ensuite and was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. We were overlooking the outdoor BBQ area so expected it to get noisy but it didnt. Had everything we needed and was very clean. The staff/owners were also very friendly and helpful.

Comfortable bed. Large locker to store luggage. There were sufficient power outlets. The firm had a shower/toilet room which meant it tended to stay damp. The shower was warm. Large common area. They had a free meal night. Large kitchen for cooking. Staff was helpful. Limited parking near the hostel. However, they provide a parking slip for a hotel near the main attractions so you can park pretty close. Would definitely stay again.

Decent hostel with everything you need. Friendly, helpful staff and lots of local information on noticeboards. Large common areas, free laundry & well equipped kitchen. Located close to the train station, supermarkets & bottle shops. Room was very spacious with large lockers and comfy beds. Good free BBQ on Saturday evening.

The Hostel is reasonable clean and people staying there are good.The only comment is the room A11 is air-tight so it becomes smelly inside room since the window is blocked by a bunk bed that cannot be open.

This hostel is a block from the CBD of Katoomba, NSW. The staff is awesome and immediately fix anything you bring to their attention. Easy walk through town to the Echo Point Viewing Overlook of the Blue Mountains and the Prince Harry trail to Katoomba Falls. Stunning views. Lots of shopping and eats in town, short walk from the train station. Shared bathrooms, no air conditioning, great value!

Excellent location and quiet & clean. Value for money - we stayed in a private room for 1 night.

I had never stayed at a backpackers before, absolutely loved it, the amenities, the comfort, the staff, the location. At no time was anything too much trouble for the staff.

I booked a private en-suite room at second floor for 2 nights. The room is spacious with a queen sized bed, writing table and TV. The water heater and wifi worked well in my room.There is a small heater in my room which was of great help because the temperature suddenly dropped to below 10degree celcius on second day. The standing fan in my room was originally not functioning but after feedback to reception, they immediately replaced with a functional standing fan during my first night stay. There were few flies in the room which could be quite annoying and I can’t figure out how they got into the room. This hostel also provides discounted attraction tickets and free laundry service. It’s within walking distance (around 45 mins by slow walking) to famous touristy places such as the Scenic World, the Three Sisters Rocks and the Echo Point. It’s near to the train station as well. Overall, the my staying experience was pleasant.

This is a hostel/guesthouse where individuals and families can all feel welcome. There is a lovely fireplace in the common area where people play pool, boardgames or share meals. Its a nice little town with beautiful views, which is a nice break from the city.

Very warm in inside the property during this cold winter night. I stayed in a room with own bathroom the shower water flow was very small.

The hostel is cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. The facilities were excellent with a great shared kitchen, dining/common area and computer room. Thank you for exposing a large number of people to this and for making me extremely ill. Great idea we got to see so much more then on a bus. There are board games available, definitely a great place to stay for people visiting the blue mountains.
