기온거리와는 쪼끔 거리가 있지만 친절한 직원들과 훌륭한 서비스를 받을 수 있다. 규모가 크지않아서 복잡하지 않은 욕탕이 있다. 아침은 여러날을 숙박항 경우 겹치지 않게 다양하게 변경되는데 다만 아침시간을 맞춰서 식사를 해야한다.일본식 한끼 아침식사로 여행을 시작하기 좋은 곳이다.

기온거리에서 7분정도 걸면 있고 카모강 근처라서 전망이 너무너무 좋다 직원들도 친절해서 묵을 때 불편함 없이 너무 편하게 쉬었다가 갔습니다 조식도 매우매우 만족했고 온천도 좋았습니다! 강추입니다!

전통식료칸은 아니지만 여독을 풀기 위한 목욕탕과 함께 바라보는 카모강 풍경은 잊을 수 없을 것 같다.

별 하나는 미안하고 둘은 좀 과하다 싶음.큰 아이가 준비했고 이번엔 많이 돌아다니지 말고 편하고 느긋하게 즐기자며 가게된 여행의 숙소.개인적으로는 숙소를 정할 때 우선 교통을 포함한 접근성, 시설, 서비스, 비용 등의 순으로 점검하고 정하는데 이번엔 큰아이가 예약했기에 찍소리도 못하고 참견도 못했던 터라 아무 정보도 없이 묵게 되었음.이 Tazuru 료칸의 가장 큰 장점은 지하철역과 버스정류장이 걸어서 5-10분 거리로 가깝고 교토역도 버스로 10분 정도의 거리로 가까워 접근성이 매우 양호하고, 교토의 부엌이라는 니시키시장, 시조, 기온 거리 등이 모두 멀지 않아 어슬렁거리며 걸어도 부담이 없는 거리에 위치해 있음.7층 옥상에 올라보니 료칸 뒤편이 동쪽방향인데 바로 옆으로 중랑천?(카모강이라는데 말이 좋아 강이지 딱 중랑천 규모임)이 흐르는데다 그 방향으로는 높은 건물도 없어 길 건너편으로 Kiyomizu-dera(청수사)가 한눈에 들어오는 등 탁 트인 전망이 양호함. 그러나 건물 현관 쪽인 서쪽으로는 건물로 막혀있고 건물 구조로 보아 묵었던 6층 아래로는 좀 갑갑했을 듯 싶음.현관 앞으로는 조그마한 개울이 흐르는데 (한자로는 고뢰천이라고 말 그대로 냇물에 불과한데 구글 지도상으로는 타카세 강이라고 되어있어 약간 혼란스러움) 이 길을 따라 길 양쪽으로 죽 이어서 음식점들이 성업 중으로 밤에는 길 양쪽으로 늘어선 키낮은 가로둥에서 뿌려지는 운은한 조명이 운치가 있으며 벚나무들이 심어져 있어 봄에는 벚꽃놀이 명소라고도 하니 봄에는 나름 볼만할듯.장점은 딱 여기까지.내부에 대중탕이 있다는데 남녀간에 사용시간이 다르고 그 시간을 맞추기도 싫어서 사용해보질 않았으니 이건 무어라 할 말이 없고, 료칸에서 일본요리를 하는 모양이던데 이도 구내 식당을 이용하질 않았으니 이것도 패스.직원인듯한 여인들이 안내를 해주는데 영어가 매우 부실하여 의사소통에 조금 답답하기 시작함.안내해주는대로 6층의 방엘 들어가보니 침실2, 거실 있고 화장실2에 욕실이 하나 그리고 구석에 간이주방이 하나 있는 구성으로 방바닥엔 다다미가 깔려있고 침실은 폼매트 위에 요, 이불이 갖춰져 있음.내부 시설로 TV라는 것이 마치 컴퓨터모니터 갖다놓은 것처럼 자그마해 한번도 켜보질 않았음(그래도 안내문엔 유타카 가운을 입고 평면TV로 위성채널을 시청하며 휴식을.... 쩝!!).욕실에서 샤워를 하려니 샤워기 매다는 꼭지가 아래에만 있어 쪼그리고 앉아 씻어야 함.Amenity라고 비치된 것이 우리나라 어느 지방의 낡은 모텔 수준보다 나을 것이 전혀 없었음.화장실은 혹시 고객이 화장실엘 책이나 신문들고 가면 변비가 생길 걸 염려하였는지 무척 어두웠음.실내 전체적으로는 나름 유지관리 하는듯 보이긴 하였으나 구석 벽지 갈라지고 낡은 흔적이 역력하여 일본에 대하여 갖는 일본인 특유의 세밀함, 정교함 등이 떨어져 매우 아쉬웠음.출입문은 자동도어로 절로 닫히는데 그냥 놔두면 세게 닫히는 바람에 그 소리가 마치 예포쏘는 소리 같기도 함.* 압권은 방 밖으로 나가려고 도어손잡이 돌리는데 느닷없이 손잡이가 그냥 쑥 빠져나와 황당하였음. 약속시간이 다 되어 사람 부르고 어쩌고 할 것 없이 그냥 대충 돌려끼워서 사용하였음.체크아웃 전까지는 그냥 방값 싼 숙소여서 그러려니 하고 지냈는데 큰아이가 결재하는 금액을 보고는 어이가 없었음.3박에 240만원이 넘다니! 아니 하룻밤에 80만원이 넘는다고? 고작 이런 숙소가? OMG!!!!!나중에 호텔예약사이트 보니 이곳이 4성급 숙소라는 것에 새삼 절망함.다른 방은 겪어보질 않아 무어라 할 말도 없지만, 이 집의 6층 방은 가성비 꽝임!정말 진짜로 확실히 완전히 절대 비추임!일본 와서 호갱님 되어본 짜릿한 경험이었음.

직원들이 친절하고 시간대에따라 욕탕의위치가 변경되니까 확인꼭 하세요 저는 아침일찍저녁늦게 가서 혼자 사용해서 행복했습니다ㅎㅎ

온센 이용하는것도 너무좋았고, 조식도 맛있었어요!직원들이 정말 친절하셔서 엄마도 편하게 지내다 왔다하시네요.다만 에어컨이 너무 약합니다.......ㅜㅠ평소에 더위를 많이 타지 않았었는데, 그게 좀 아쉬웠어요

루프탑느낌으로 되어있는 공용온천이 매력적 쿄토의 느낌을 잘 살렸으며 위치도 시내랑 가까워 좋은편 단 관광지라 비싼편

There were many ladies we met during our stay and each was helpful and accommodating. It was a very rainy day so they let us borrow umbrellas and one of them went outside and hailed a cab for us. The sleeping arrangements are mats on the ground but it was one of my best nights of sleep of our 2 week honeymoon. Breakfast was okay. No westen options. Not my favorite and not the worst. I’d say very average but the hospitality was excellent, the area was so cute with lots of little shops and restaurants. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Very good location and walkable distance to several attractions such as kiyomizudera (about 20 minutes relaxing walk), Gion and Nishiki Market. I recommend to take a taxi to and from the train station if you have luggage. Some interesting courses but again would recommend for the experience and service. Clean and very tidy. You may have difficulty with this type of room if you are unable to easily get up and down from floor level.

I stayed at Tazuru with my brother and a friend for one night in April 2017, and we had a lovely time. The three of us shared one room. This was my first experience in a traditional Japanese Ryokan, and it did not disappoint. We brought our suitcases to the ryokan a few hours early before our 3pm check-in, and they happily let us leave them in the lobby. When we returned after dinner that evening, they had already moved our bags into our room and placed our sleeping futons out, and had hot water for tea ready. There were Japanese pajamas, slippers, shampoo, soap, and everything you could need. In the morning, we had an unbelievable breakfast - its absolutely worth including in your room. The best breakfast I had all trip. When we got back to our rooms after breakfast, the futons were put away and we had a table in the middle. The only downside to the hotel is that its a bit older of a structure, not renovated recently. So if youre looking for a brand new building, this isnt your place. But the wonderful hospitality makes you forget that.

We stayed here for 2 nights during the cherry blossom season in Kyoto and it was a wonderful experience! This ryokan is located on a quiet street but it is within walking distance to a lot of Kyoto attractions such as Gion and Nishiki Market. There were also a lot of restaurants/options to eat nearby. Convenience stores and grocery stores were located nearby as well. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. We had free breakfast for both days and chose to have dinner at the ryokan for one night. The food served at the restaurant was extremely delicious and beautifully made!

We really enjoyed our stay in Ryokan Tazuru. We sleep soundly on the futons provided and all staff were extremely helpful. The Ryokan experience is naturally novel and fun but definitely not for the price we paid. The part of town was pretty and within walking distance to ***y smaller shops and restaurants.

Had a nice stay at Tazuru. The staff are polite and friendly and most of all helpful. Short walk from bus stop. Its right on the river and walkable to major sights and transportation. We wanted a ryokan experience without the price tag of, say, Tawaraya or Hiiragiya.

We got a family room at the hotel and were a bit nervous about staying in a Japanese style hotel. The staff at the reception did speak very good English and provided excellent recommendations for activities and restaurants around. The room did include a bath, but we also used the public baths to enjoy the Japanese culture.The hotel is a 10-minute beautiful walk from Gion, with lots of restaurants. The street the hotel is located in is really nice for a stroll.Overall, great experience!

Location is central to the Gion area and easy walking distance to ***y of Kyotos main attractions. Room it self was comfortable and quiet. The street where the ryokan is located is beautiful, next to a canal and full of trees and flowers. The staff was very friendly and tried their best to give us the information we wanted. Very little english spoken.

The ladies at the reception dont speak a good English but they make their best to be understood and understand what you say. The traditional Japanese room was in good condition with a little evident wear. The English is a big lost in translation but the young people working there can help. Will come back for sure.

Im not sure what prices should be and maybe Expedia takes too much, but I thought it was just a bit pricey @$250./ night. Drop the price make a few improvements on the facility and I could give it 5. The location is great and a view of herons on the river was worth some money I reckon. And the breakfast was extremely charming

We had a lovely stay at Tazuru. We used the public baths at night - a very unique experience and the baths were clean and a good temperature. Breakfast was lovely as well. I would highly recommend Tazuru for a ryokan stay.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and she wanted a ryokan experience. We stayed 3 nights at the Ryokan Tazuru. The futons were comfortable, but we were hoping that breakfast would be included in the price. When the woman at the front desk said no breakfast, we were a bit confused. Staff were friendly, but it would also help to have more English-speaking staff at the ryokan. During our checkout there was a woman who lost her wallet and credit cards. I felt sorry for her because the woman at the front desk smiled and said No English. A younger staff member was eventually called to the lobby to attempt to translate. I would probably recommend staying 1 or 2 nights here if you want to ryokan experience because you can probably get more for less elsewhere in Kyoto.

The location was excellent, just by the kamogawa. The ryokan was quiet old but it was clean. Breakfast was nice as a kyoto home style meal.

The place is dated. Some general update to the building will be more acceptable. The food is exceptional good.
