It was a very convenient and comfortable stay! Location is a few bus stops from Kyoto station. The room is a lot bigger than average. And the fact they have a washing machine and a clothing rack is a major plus. We were able to do our laundry and leave them to dry on the balcony without any worries. This was so useful as we were travelling from Osaka and onward to Tokyo. The bed is a little too hard for my body. And the WiFi in the morning seems to have issues. No drinking water in the room but there’s a kitchen area. Overall, we were very happy with the stay and the value we paid for.

Great service. Handy facilities and good instructions. Small issues like bathroom door not soundproof at all and heater took a long time to turn on. Location ok, you need to take the bus. Overall a great apartment and fantastic staff.

It was a nice 3 nights stay at this house. The room is clean with clean linen and very spacious. The room is equipped with simple cooking and eating utensils. Toilet is new and clean with toiletries provided. The man at the counter is very friendly and provided us with the information I needed. Location is good, you don’t need to go to Kyoto station, most of the tourist spots can be reached by city buses. Bus station is one minute walk away and there are a few small restaurant at walking distance away. A cell phone is for your use to bring along when you go out if you need it. I can leave my luggage at the counter when check out at 10 and return to collect it in the evening.

We had a really great stay here at Ai-Matsubara Kyogoku House! When we arrived we were greated by a very friendly and helpful receptionist (unfortunately I cant remember her name, but she was great!) who first gave us a map over Kyoto and showed us some places nearby (attractions and food store). Then, she showed us our room which was more like an apartment than a room (with a bed, sofa, TV, balcony, kitchen, bathroom, and washing machine). She also explained really well how to use all the appliances, which was great. The guesthouse is located at a very good location in Kyoto, on a quiet side street in a calm neighborhood, with walking distance from the train station (about 20-30 minutes) and we could also walk to some main attractions of Kyoto (such as Nijo Castle). It was also very easy getting around by bus to other attractions further away. Even though the reception is not staffed 24/7, theres a phone you can use to get in touch with the hotel staff if you need. We also got to borrow a cellphone during our stay, which was great since then we had data access everywhere while we were in Kyoto. All in all, a great stay and we definitely recommend it!

The room is very clean and it has everything you need. The full kitchen and washer/dryer in the room is very convenience. The hotel even provided the smartphone for customers to use during the entire stay. The phone has unlimited data and unlimited international call, which i never experience this service before. The hotel is one minute away from the bus stop and 15 minutes walking to the Kyoto station. If you have google map, getting around by bus is very simple.

The hotel room was like a mini apartment. Everything we needed for 4 night including mini kitchen, washing machine. And the bathroom sink was amazing - just have a play around with the tap....

Worked great as our base in Kyoto. It’s a small apartment style hotel on a quiet side street. Kitchenette and washing machine are a big plus. Bus stop to the train station is right outside. Modern and clean, exactly what we needed.

It was easy to find, with local shops for groceries minutes away. Lots of transport like buses and metro nearby too.

The room was on the first floor with a gated window, so no sun light at all. The room was very clean. The hot water pressure in the shower was wonderful after a long day of touring in the chilly spring weather.

Excellent accueil. Avons reçu beaucoup de conseils ou de renseignements pour nos visites. Chambre parfaite. Etablissement à recommander chaudement ! On a même pu aller à pieds au festival Gion Matsuri.

Great hotel, very clean and large rooms. The beds were a little hard, but that’s our only complaint. Great stay!

Roman took very good care of us. And we loved walking around to the local sites.

Great location, comfortable and clean.Down side was the lack of any interest from the staff at the front desk.

Having locks on balcony doors would be better. Automatic heating temperature of the heaters would be better.
