This is the first and last time I will stay at the Ivy. Great location for food and fun however. No maid service and Covid is no longer an excuse. 4 nights hunting down towels, bedding is strange. I pay for a hotel for the service otherwise I can stay with family when I travel. The one thing that made it for me was Omar the bartender. Fun and funny with crazy colored good drinks at the bar. I wont be back to stay but I will visit the bar.

We are very pleased with the hotels policies and condition of the room itself. The decor and look of the hotel is incredible. We did a photo shoot to celebrate our engagement in the lobby and the room because of the hotels decor and overall look. However, to have to pay $45/car for parking was NOT appreciated! we had 2 cars, and our photographer had a car. The fact that a boutique hotel in Chicago doesnt offer its guest parking is a major negative. Also, the fact that we had to go to the front desk to get ice is awkward. I wish that the top floor bar/restaurant was open. Most restaurants in the area have reopened, but not at the hotel. We are used to hotels at this level to offer complimentary bath robes for its guest. We had to buy robes to get them in our room. We throughly enjoyed our stay, and loved the location. However, the added costs of staying there, like spending $90 for overnight parking, will cause us to select another property when looking for a Chicago getaway.

This hotel was a totally disappointing experience. The room was totally uncomfortable, from the bed to the sofa. The most impressive part of the room was the shower. Mind you I had a suite. I work from home so I was looking forward to sitting in the rooftop area at the end of a long day and enjoy a nice drink. Imagine my surprise when I was told that it was closed. The young man never stated that it would be open on the next day...only that it was closed. Speaking of the people, they were ok. Not what you would expect from people working in the service industry. You had to go to the front desk anytime you needed ice and the front desk assistant was frequently missing. There was no valet service so I had to carry my bags the block and a half away to and from the parking garage. There are several garages nearby however I did not know that when booking my trip and using an app to prepay for parking. My room was next door to a storage facility and there was no sound barrier to block out the noise from them going in and out of the room. Also, my view looked out to 3 buildings (right, left, and in front) and a restaurants out door seating area. Overall, this was not what I expect from a luxury hotel in downtown (Near North) side of Chicago. I wish I never spent my money for this hotel suite...I could have had a V8.

The hotel was ok. The rooms were clean and very nice, however, the service at the front desk was not great. When asked if the roof top bar was open, we were received with very curt answers and were told that we would need to make a reservation online and they couldn’t call up to ask if there was availability. Additionally - check in was not good. We were told to come back for a 1:30pm check-in. When we got there at 2:30pm, we were told it was going to be another two hours with an unnecessary edge. We had lunch reservations and unfortunately needed to head to our (expensive) dinner in our travel clothes. It was really odd and not a great customer experience. I will absolutely stay at the hotel across the street where we were greeted with friendliness and hospitality even though we weren’t even quests, just going for drinks. The rates are equivalent at E=MC2 and the service is 100% better.

I book this place to surprise my husband for our wedding night with a 3night stay honeymoon. I emailed the hotel the day before about our late check in and they responded quickly and were very kind. The checkin went great and we enjoyed a nice stay in the king suit on the 14th floor. Due to the pandemic there was only limited house-keeping and no dining. But the hotel is located right next to several restaurants and 2min walk from Michigan Avenue. We loved that we could adjust the room temperature ourselves and that the bathroom had a tub and a shower!Nice place!

Positive: I loved the classiness of the hotel and it was super clean. I also loved how exclusive it was especially having 5 rooms per floor. I will be booking there from now on when I¿m visiting downtown.

I loved the location. It is close to Michigan Ave, stores, and tons of restaurants. The room is very spacious and has an excellent soaking tub. Due to covid there isnt any bar or restaurant within the hotel that is open. The staff was okay, did not go above and beyond for anything. While checking in they were having a conversation in Spanish. They stopped to say hello and asked for my information, then proceeded to continue their conversation. They were very short with the other guess checking in as he was asking about the amenities. Just not a pleasant check in experience at all.

Absolutely terrible service. I had paid for a 3 night stay and left after 1.First off, upon arrival there was no front desk employee in sight to check me in. I tried calling to no avail, waited about 20 minutes before I tried to call hotels.com to see what they would recommend me doing, when finally someone came out with an absolutely terrible attitude when I made a joke about waiting so long. Mind you, we are in a pandemic still and this man (young, blonde, don’t remember his name), didn’t have a mask on at all. Nothing. When I left the next morning, a different employee had his mask hanging from one ear and not covering his face at all. Absolutely disgusting! The room was an amazing size and the bathroom was great but the entire room smelled like mildew, or water that’s been sitting for weeks. I tried to open a window but they made it so their windows don’t open. It was late so I took a Benadryl to put myself to sleep and booked a new room at a hotel down the street for the next two days. I can’t even begin to imagine how this hotel has the rating it does, it’s disgusting to say the least. Walls are paper thin, heard the room next door talking... simply talking. Oh and the bed is rock solid.I will never recommend this hotel to anyone, it was such a disappointment. I didn’t even bother to try and get a refund since the staff was already so rude, just ate the cost and moved hotels.1/10 stars for the size of the room, but that’s it.

Amazing! Quiet. Clean. Comfortable. Great service. Free non English speaking employees, but overall enjoyable. Conveniently located.

The location is great to find something to eat or go shopping. I was pleased with tge size of the bathtub and rainfall shower. The television in tge mirror was a nice touch also. My room was next door to tge service closet so it was noisy during the morning. There was no room service during the week for dinner so it was unfortunate that I was not provided a microwave to warm up my dinner from the grocery store. Overall, I was pleased with my experience.

We stayed here 5 years ago and it was amazing, the most beautiful place Ive ever stayed. This time not so much. You could tell that its been worn down, a lot. A little disappointing but it is what it is.

The pics are definitely better than in person experience.. My biggest issue is that the heat didn’t warm up the entire room, the floor we stayed on smelled like weed, the front desk was either not there or eating and the water takes forever to heat up! I really expected better.

They property is in a great location downtown, easy to walk to restaurants or shopping malls and stores. Spacious living room and nice bathroom, very stylish and modern living arrangements. Cleanliness could have been a tad better had a spots with leftover glitter residue, but overall a very nice stay.

Shaun/Sean, the front desk attendant, was extremely rude and disrespectful. He was not accommodating or pleasant in any way...which was surprising since the entire lobby area smelled strongly of marijuana. I left a voicemail for the hotel manager to contact me and did not get a returned call. 10 out of 10 would not recommend. There are literally hundreds of other hotels I would rather give my business to. You are a hospitality industry. Be hospitable.

Positive: The actual scenery was nice . I Negative: Well my hot water was not working .. the shower water kept cutting off . Also my bathroom smelled like cigarettes. I was informed that this was a non smoking hotel ..

Positive: The room was clean and spacious. The location was centrally located, walking distance to restaurants and entertainment. Negative: One particular staff member, the one that checked me in was not very welcoming or hospitable. Everyone one else was kind and professional.

Positive: The size of the room was excellent. Could not get a better deal in this price anywhere. Negative: Given the covid situation, there was no room service during our stay. But the staff was kind enough to give us extra towels we asked for.

Nice room, with a big bed. I do not recommend their room service, the food was not very good. Bath tub was not clean, and the couch looked like it hasnt been cleaned in a while either.

Positive: Location Negative: Room was not clean, hair on the floor, window was missing a handle, no remote for the tv in the bathroom, bedroom drawer was broken. Asked the front desk for a blanket, it never arrived, we were there for two days. Asked for ice and a bucket, took hours

Positive: Loved that the sitting area was separate from the bedroom area. The TV in the bathroom mirror did not work but a very good idea. Didnt get a chance to enjoy the rooftop area but it looked relaxing. Negative: Wish that parking was somehow included in the room rates.

Positive: The location was close to Michigan Ave. Negative: The staff did not answer the phone when I tried calling. Nor did the room service. During the week they offered room service for breakfast. I called multiple times with no response. I even left a message and no reply. Not a good way to run a hotel.

Positive: Nice area Negative: Hotel staff were uninformed. Was originally told deposit would be 100$, but my card was charged 150$. We couldnt pay the deposit in cash. At 4:30am there was a fight outside my room. My three children were awakened by the fight. Waste of money. Mediocre

Positive: The room size was very comfortable. The decor was up to date. Negative: The staff were not friendly. The rooftop bar was closed on a sunny 70 degree day.This was the sole reason I booked this specific hotel. I was hungry so I had to eat the room service food which was overcooked and dry. A cockroach was in the bathroom.

The stay was ok all the amenities wasnt there that was said when booking the room

Positive: The room had lots of potential, it is spacious and tastefully decorated. Negative: When we arrived the blinds wouldnt work, the bathroom tub was dirty, and there was dust and debris throughout the room. The view was of dumpster lining the alley. I ended up checking out and moving to another hotel a 30 min walk away.

Strange?Front desk claimed we checked out at 1:52 am and they gave keys to 3 people that attempted to walk into our rom at 6:30am. Ridiculous!

Positive: The hotel is one of our regular stays. Negative: It has gone way down hill in the year or two since ive been staying there. Rooms are not as clean and tvs are not working in every room. Wifi terrible.
